Traveling with kids doesn’t have to be stressful—especially when you bring along the right gear. Ride-on suitcases are a lifesaver for families, turning airport sprints into playful adventures and giving tired little legs a break. Whether you’re flying across the country or road-tripping to Grandma’s, these suitcases will keep your child entertained and your travel smooth. I have not used every single ride on suitcase because they are expensive, but I will mention why I didn’t choose these and which one’s I preferred.

Here are the best ride-on suitcases of 2025—carefully selected for fun, function, and parent-approved features.

Trunki Ride-On Suitcase – Classic, fun, and perfect for ages 3–6

1. Trunki Ride-On Suitcase

  • Price: $70
  • Best For: Ages 3–6
  • Why We Love It: The original classic. Kids can ride, tow, or carry it, and the whimsical designs (like Terrance the blue engine) are too cute to resist. Durable, lightweight, and a perfect carry-on size.
  • Buy itTrunki
  • My Opinion: It is cute, hard to pull with a child on it and because of the inflexible wheels, my son would end up just dragging it around everywhere.

2. MiaMily Carry-On Luggage

  • Price: $359
  • Best For: Luxe family travel with kids aged 2–8
  • Why We Love It: This high-end option doubles as a ride-on and a comfy portable seat for kids or even adults. Smart design, smooth wheels, and a ton of storage make it worth the splurge.

  • Buy itAmazon
  • My Opinion: It is pricey but this is my favorite one. It rolls easy, and I even use it when I am traveling for work because it is so functional and I love it. It is bigger than most carry on suitcases, and I have not had a problem with it so far on American lines, but foreign airlines are more strict and you most likely will have to check the suitcase instead.

3. Roll Rider Dashby Blue Kids Scooter Suitcase

  • Price: $140
  • Best For: Ages 5–10
  • Why We Love It: It’s a scooter and suitcase in one! With LED wheels, a sturdy deck, and plenty of packing space, this one’s a hit for energetic kids who like to roll through the airport.
  • Buy itRoll Rider
  • My Opinion: I chose not to get this one because I didn’t not trust my child enough to not watch out for people in a busy area. The concept is really cool, but I also feel like I won’t be able to fit much and I already have a small backpack for that.

4. 2025 Kids Ride-On Luggage with Foot Pedal

  • Price: $200
  • Best For: Ages 3–7
  • Why We Love It: Six wheels, a foldable footrest, and a cute shape make this a comfortable and fun ride. It’s great for long travel days without breaking the bank.
  • Buy itAmazon
  • My Opinion: I thought it was too awkward of a shape but liked that it had a foot pedal on it.

5. Kids Travel Backpack and Suitcase Set

  • Price: $67
  • Best For: Toddlers starting their travel journey
  • Why We Love It: A colorful matching set that includes a small backpack and a rolling suitcase. The spinner wheels make it easy to move, and the size is great for little travelers.
  • Buy itKids Travel Backpack and Suitcase Set
  • My Opinion: I actually have a slightly different set of this and I love it because my son is becoming more independent and wanting to do more on his own, he loves having a set like this.

6. JetKids by Stokke BedBox

  • Price: $229
  • Best For: Ages 2–7 on long-haul flights
  • Why We Love It: Converts from a ride-on suitcase to an in-flight leg rest or bed. It’s one of the most travel-smart inventions ever for little ones. Sturdy, stylish, and a lifesaver on planes.
  • Buy itStokke BedBox
  • My Opinion: I really liked this option, even saw it at the airport multiple times but my son moves around too much in his seat so I know I wouldn’t even use it for how it should be used.

7. Yodo 3-in-1 Zoo Kids Luggage

  • Price: $89
  • Best For: Ages 3-6
  • Why We Love It: This adorable animal-themed suitcase converts from a ride-on to a pull-along and even a backpack. It’s lightweight, functional, and perfect for zoo-loving kids on the go.
  • Buy itYodo Zoo Kids Luggage
  • My Opinion: This was a cute option but a little too flimsy for me.

8. Kiddietotes 3D Hardshell Ride-On Suitcase

  • Price: $129
  • Best For: Ages 3–6
  • Why We Love It: Eye-catching 3D designs (like unicorns and robots) plus a durable hardshell exterior make this one both stylish and sturdy. It’s small enough for carry-on, yet fun enough to keep your kiddo happy from check-in to boarding.
  • Buy itAmazon – Kiddietotes Ride-On
  • My Opinion: I really wanted to make it work but I know my son and scooters and busy places would not go well together

Final Thoughts

A great ride-on suitcase isn’t just a cute accessory—it’s a game-changer for traveling families. Whether you’re looking for budget-friendly fun or luxury convenience, there’s a perfect option for your child on this list. Happy travels!
